Good TV

Juan Pedro Fabra, Michele Masucci and Loulou Cherinet

Good TV is a commune of 3 artists; Juan Pedro Fabra, Michele Masucci and Loulou Cherinet. In 2004 Good TV started to broadcast television programs on Stockholm Open Channel producing televised exhibitions, performances and videos for the TV medium. Later, we developed the project This Image is No More, a work in which volunteers retell an image, one-to-one with the audience. We have thus proceeded from television broadcasting to an analogous situation.

Our work process and ideas are based on our previous experience with televised storytelling that have developed into new spatial and political investigations of the distribution of mental images. Our work involves an exploration of mimesis and diegesis, that is “showing” and “telling”, inspired by contemporary digital storytelling and a multimodal narrative where one tells in many ways at once – still photography, film footage, music, lighting, sound effects along with a personal narration – facing the world of storytelling with the story.

During our stay in Helsinki Good TV will produce new work for the Shapeshift exhibition project at Sinne Gallery. This work is based on an examination of the site and streets around the Sinne Gallery, historical events and artefacts, mythology and memory as both act and matter.
