Mimi Tong invites the public into her studio to view and discuss the project she has been working on during her residency in Suomenlinna.

The work she has done at HIAP extends on Tong’s interest in mapping architectural spaces through cultural experience. The act of travelling and exploring is at the core of her practice that involves experiencing and reflecting on local urban architecture and geography to consider how these are shaped by, represent and impact social and cultural interactivity and personal identity.

Mimi Tong’s Residency is organised in cooperation with Australia Council for the Arts and HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme.
