Pauline Koffi Vandet (b. 1994, DK/CI) is a curator who currently lives and works in Helsinki. She holds an MA in Visual Culture from University of Copenhagen. Rooted in research, critical dialogue and methodological experimentation, her curatorial practice focuses on communal sustainability and embodied practices.
Vandet is currently the Curatorial Fellow at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, in collaboration with the Saastamoinen Foundation. In the frame of the fellowship, she conducts independent research into Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection, one of Finland’s most significant collections of modern and contemporary art. She also runs the Copenhagen-based curatorial duo Koffi & Højgaard with Ida Højgaard Thjømøe. Together their practice encompasses both exhibition-making and large-scale public art projects, where site-responsiveness, social engagement and participation are central to their approach.
In addition, Vandet has for several years been affiliated with Fotografisk Center, Denmark’s leading art centre for photography in an expanded field, where she also served as acting director in 2023-2024.
I will engage with the Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection with a particular focus on its lens-based and media-based works. I aim to explore how the collection can be activated in new ways through a curatorial practice that involves conversations with artists, curators, art institutions, and audiences.
