Nagisa Mizuno
Mizuno is an artist from Japan. She completed her MFA in Global Art Practice from Graduate School of Fine Art, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2025. During her undergraduate studies, she majored in international relations/development and initially worked in that field. Over time, her focus shifted from international relations to interpersonal connections. Her art practice explores the relationship and forms of care among people, and between people and the land through the act of ‘eating / touching’.
I will conduct a project ‘Forage the Poetry’ that combines a tour workshop and poetry creation in the Vuosaari Hills, a former landfill now transformed into a vast recreational area with a thriving ecosystem in Helsinki. Together with a local geologist and poet, the tour weaves a narrative around the glacial rocks, where the tour participants make a poem. The poetry is projected onto glass made from local sand and plants to explore the entangled relationship between people and the transforming land/scape, while creating a living archive of urban ecology.
