Marko Medvediev
Sound artist, Musician, and founder of the Parking Spot project, Marko Medvediev’s work explores themes of inner transformation and displacement. His primary creative approach involves working with generative music and crafting complex rhythms and textures.
His last two albums, All The Factors That Don’t Matter (2024) and Moai! (2025), were released on the Ukrainian labels Dnipropop and Liky pid Nohamy and were well received by listeners, the media and music critics alike.
The purpose of my residency is to refocus on my solo project, Parking Spot, and develop a concept for a new live show—a task that is currently being complicated by the ongoing instability in Ukraine, as well as my ongoing work on side projects. A more stable environment will help me focus specifically on my creative work and begin developing a new idea.
Marko Medvediev’s residency at Fairres Art Residency is realised in the context of the Ukraine Solidarity Residencies Programme. The current partners of the programme are AARK, Art Centre Salmela, Fairres, Goethe-Institut Finnland, HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme, Nelimarkka Museum, Pro Artibus, The Finnish Darkroom Association, The Finnish Illustration Association Kuvittajat, Vantaa Artist Association, and Värtsilä Art House Residency. The continuation of the programme is possible due to the support of the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture and Nordic Culture Point. This residency is supported by Vantaa Artist Association, and the Ukraine Solidarity Residencies Programme.
