Differt approaches to the differnt field of art throughout the years gone by and maybe years to come: free drawings and paintings, printmaking; almost lifesize sculptures and smaller ones in clay; lately writing narrative comics and drawings.
I want to write and draw a comic work – inspired by the Finnish environment and the potential cultural differences, my own “fish out of water”-situation and the specifc mode of observation derived from that – and ideally, I can complete this work in the three months time there in Helsinki. The theme could be inspired from the special light in the north and its effects. Or maybe starting a narrative comicwork with something like a particular word I might hear often and repeatedly from people I get to know. Or something else which might get in my way.
Franz Suess’ residency is realised in collaboration with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport (BMWKMS).
