Daria Pugachova is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and activist from Rivne, Ukraine. In her projects, Daria uses participatory practices to unite communities and integrate art into daily life. She studied architecture at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. From 2013 to 2019, she played drums in the female band Panivalkova. She now works with performance, film, and socially engaged art.
Over the past four years, Daria participated in residencies in Bulgaria, Austria, Norway, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Belgium, Azerbaijan, and the US. Daria explores themes of emotional healing and liberation, reaching toward higher states of awareness and collective freedom.
During my residency at HIAP, I’d like to explore practices of rest and slow living as performative acts. I’m interested in how restoration can happen through simple acts of living—being, walking, touch, and sound. I will work with movement, drawing, voice, and writing in solo performances and intimate group interactions. I believe healing begins with presence. During my time at HIAP, I hope to discover new ways of connection and healing through embodied presence, expression and witnessing, silence and sound—both solo and with others. Let rest show the way!
