HIAP Residency Programme For Finnish Artists

HIAP Residency Programme for Finnish artists offers residencies in HIAP Suomenlinna for visual artists living in Finland.

The aim of the programme is to offer artists the possibility to work in a stimulating milieu in the middle of maritime Helsinki and to encourage contacts with the international artist community at HIAP.

The residency months available in 2016 are:

A five-month residency in February – June 2016
A six-month residency in August 2016 – January 2017
HIAP provides the artists with studio apartments (ca. 80m2) in Suomenlinna and a monthly working grant of 1000 euros to support artistic work during the residency. The artists are entitled to HIAP residency services, including assistance in the creation and development of new projects, opportunity to present work as part of HIAP’s programme of public events and communication and promotion of residency activities. Curatorial support is offered by HIAP tutors.

The Jury consists of members of HIAP Programme Board.

The deadline for the applications is October 31, 2015 (11:59pm, GMT +2). The results of the selection process are communicated to all applicants in due time.

ALL APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED BY USING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.

All applications of a professional standard submitted for the exchange programme are appropriately considered.

Incomplete applications or applications sent by post or e-mail without using the online application form will not be taken into consideration.

ATTACHMENTS AND SUPPORTING MATERIAL

Please note the following guidelines regarding the sending of additional material supporting your application:

– It is advised that all the supporting material is stored online and can be downloaded via the use of hyperlinks, which are mentioned in the application. Please make sure that the links do not expire before you have received the decision of the Jury.

– All image/video / sound samples should be stored and shared online. HIAP does not accept CDs or DVDs sent by post. It is advised to use platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc so that downloading isn’t required to access the material.

Please note that due to the number of materials received, HIAP is not able to contact applicants upon receipt of each application, to address individual inquiries regarding submitted proposals, or to comment further upon the selection process. HIAP is unable to return or archive any unsolicited material.
