Helsinki – Frankfurt Residency Exchange

Helsinki-Frankfurt Residency Exchange offers residencies for Finnish artists in Frankfurt and for German artists in Helsinki. The exchange programme is co-organised by HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme and the Culture Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main.

The aim of the exchange is to provide participating artists with time, space, and support for their creative work and to foster dialogue, collaboration and networking opportunities. The project is designed to promote the artistic and cultural interchange between the two cities and is based on the principle of reciprocity.

In 2016, one artist from Finland will be selected for a three-month residency in Frankfurt. For the selected artist, the residency will provide a residential studio, the cost of travel from and to Helsinki, and a grant of 3000 euros. The artist will also be given the opportunity to present his/her practice in the form of a public event, such as artist talks, screening, small-scale solo exhibition or group show, and as part of an annual publication by the City of Frankfurt am Main.

The residency takes place in October–December 2016.

The Jury consists of representatives of HIAP and the City of Frankfurt am Main.

The deadline for the applications is October 31, 2015 (11:59 pm, GMT +2). The results of the selection process are communicated to all applicants in due time.

ALL APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED BY USING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.

All applications of a professional standard submitted for the exchange programme are appropriately considered.

Incomplete applications or applications sent by post or e-mail without using the online application form will not be taken into consideration.
