Helsinki – Dublin Residency Exchange 2022
Helsinki-Dublin Residency Exchange offers residencies for Finnish and Finland-based artists in Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dublin and for Irish artists in HIAP, Helsinki. Since the partnership began in 2007, TBG+S and HIAP have supported over twenty artists and curators from Ireland and Finland. The exchange programme is co-organised by HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios and Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland.
TBG+S is a contemporary art gallery and artists’ studios complex located in Dublin city centre and the Temple Bar cultural quarter. Founded in 1983, the building houses thirty artists’ studios for professional visual artists working in a variety of media. Temporary exhibitions are presented regularly and represent a cross section of contemporary Irish and international visual arts practice.
The aim of the exchange is to provide participating artists with time, space, and support for their creative work and to foster dialogue, collaboration and international networking opportunities.
In 2022, one artist from Finland will be selected for a two-month residency at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dublin. TBG+S offers accommodation and a studio space for the artist and an opportunity to present their practise in the framework of TBG+S’ programme of public events, such as studio presentations, talks, screenings or mini exhibitions in the studio space. The budget for an artists’ fee and production/materials is 3000 €. The budget for travel and accommodation is 1000 €.
The residency is planned to take place from 1 May-30 June 2022. In response to continuing adjustments to travel and work restrictions, it may be necessary to postpone the residency until a later date. This will be discussed and confirmed with the successful applicant.
The deadline for the applications is Tuesday, Dec 7, 2021 (11:59 pm, GMT +2).
