Helsinki-Dublin Residency Exchange 2024

An open call for Finnish and Finland-based artists for a two-month residency at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Dublin in February – March 2024.

TBG+S offers accommodation and a studio space for the artist and an opportunity to present their practice in the framework of TBG+S’ programme of public events, such as studio presentations, talks, screenings or mini exhibitions in the studio space. The budget for an artist’s fee and production/materials is 3000 €, and the budget for travel and accommodation is 1000 €.

TBG+S is a contemporary art gallery and artists’ studios complex located in Dublin city centre and the Temple Bar cultural quarter. Founded in 1983, the building houses thirty artists’ studios for professional visual artists working in a variety of media. Temporary exhibitions are presented regularly and represent a cross section of contemporary Irish and international visual arts practice. The TBG+S Curatorial Team represented Ireland at the 59th Venice Biennale 2022, with artist Niamh O’Malley.

The jury members in Finland are artist and HIAP board member Elina Vainio and HIAP Director Juha Huuskonen. The jury will make a shortlist of applicants, the final selection is made by TBG+S Curatorial Team.

The deadline for the applications is Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 (11:59 pm, GMT +3).

  • Portfolio / examples of previous work
  • Work plan (optional)

Applications or supporting material sent by e-mail without using the online application form will not be taken into consideration. Please note that due to the large number of applicants for our open calls, we are unfortunately unable to give feedback about individual applications.
