Cove Park Residency 2019

In the frame of a new residency exchange collaboration, HIAP is seeking applications from Finnish and Finland-based arts professionals for a one-month residency at Cove Park, Scotland in 2019. The residency programme welcomes applications from visual artists, performing artists, choreographers, dancers, filmmakers, writers and those with an interest in participatory practice. The exchange programme is co-organised by HIAP, Cove Park, Artists’ Association MUU and Finnish Institute in London. In 2020 an artist from the UK will be selected for a residency in Finland.

Context

Cove Park is an international residency centre, located on an outstanding 50-acre site overlooking Loch Long on Scotland’ west coast. Cove Park provides the space, time and support for artists working in all art forms, and at all stages in their careers, to develop new work and have the opportunity to be part of a stimulating community. Artists on residency stay on site, in private accommodation units and with access to a new, purpose-built Artists Centre. By supporting research and experimentation, the residency encourages artists to make significant developments in their practices, without the constraints of delivering a final outcome on completion of their residency.

Cove Park offers a lightly curated programme of studio tours, dinners and events which the successful artist is welcome to participate in.

In 2019 Cove Park is developing a new programme of residency opportunities with European partners. As the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, Cove Park will welcome artists from member countries. The European Residency Programme will reflect the multi-disciplinary nature of Cove Park’s wider programme with an aim to invite artists working in a variety of fields.
