HIAP Welcomes a New Board member: Taina Máret Pieski
Helsinki International Artist Programme is pleased to announce the appointment of a new board member: Taina Máret Pieski!
“I’m delighted to join the board of HIAP, a key hub for international artist residency activities in Finland. HIAP is a wonderful concept, and I’m excited to contribute to shaping its increasingly diverse future,” Pieski says.
Taina Máret Pieski is the Director of the Sámi Museum Siida in Inari, Finland. Pieski has extensive experience in different leadership positions, including in various ministries and as the Mayor of the northernmost municipality in the EU, Utsjoki.
Under Pieski‘s leadership at the Sámi museum Siida has undergone significant renovations and expansions, enhancing its exhibitions and facilities to better serve Sámi people, the public and preserve Sámi heritage. The Sámi Museum Siida is the winner of the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA) 2024, the Finnish Museum of the Year 2024 and the Europa Nostra award winner 2022. Siida is the only Sámi museum in Finland, carrying both national and regional responsibilities for cultural heritage and the cultural environment.
We are looking forward to welcoming Taina Máret to HIAP’s Board, starting in January 2026.
