HIAP has a New Strategy 2026 – 2030
As we come to the end of the year we are pleased to share HIAP’s Strategy 2026 – 2030, which will guide our work for the next five years.
The strategy has been developed through a participatory process involving over 70 contributors – including key stakeholders, artist alumni, partners, HIAP staff, Board Members and Members. Their collective insight and belief in HIAP’s work have helped define how HIAP can strengthen its role within Helsinki, across Finland and internationally. We are very grateful to each person who contributed to the strategy’s development.
The strategy is structured through a Theory of Change approach, outlining the challenges we address, the purpose of our work and how we deliver impact. It aims to clearly articulate the value of HIAP’s activities and residency programmes more broadly for the arts sector and for society.
The accompanying Logic Model sets out how our activities are resourced and the short, medium and long term outcomes we expect to achieve. The Aims and Outputs for 2026–2030 respond directly to these intended outcomes and provide a framework for delivery.
This marks a change in how HIAP develops and evaluates strategy. In 2026, we will establish a new evaluation framework to assess progress annually and enable us to adapt where necessary.
Setting clear targets in the current climate has been both necessary and challenging. We hope that by maintaining a strong vision and building on the legacy of HIAP’s previous work we will meet these goals in the coming years, and perhaps even excel them. Our board and team are ready for the challenge.
If you have any comments or feedback on the strategy, please don’t hesitate to be in touch.
