shineOn-Fashionshow

During their residency at HIAP, Berlin-based fashion designers Linn Annen and Celine D. have organized a workshop at service centers for elderly people in order to develop a collection of clothes and accessories. In the workshop the participants have been able to express their own needs and wishes with regards to clothing. The participants have been from various cultural contexts: Somalia, Afghanistan, Congo and Finland. The results of the workshop will be presented in a fashion show open to the public on Saturday, September 29 at 1pm.

The project is linked to the European Year of Active Ageing 2012 which aims to improve the everyday life of elderly people with activities in which they can bring in their own interests and experiences and express their own needs and wishes with regards to clothing and design.

The service centres involved are Kampin palvelukeskus, Kinaporin palvelukeskus and Riistavuoren palvelukeskus.
