HIAP Open Studio: Johanna Kintner

Wednesday, 12 November, 1–3 pm (Artist talk/presentation at 1 pm)
HIAP Studio 3 / Cable Factory

HIAP Open Studios provide the resident artists with an opportunity to present their work to local colleagues and audiences in an informal and relaxed setting. In November, HIAP Open Studio features artist Johanna Kintner (DE) who will show a selection of drafts she has been working on during the residency: objects and installations in small scale models, some tests in bigger sizes and texts. The artist will also give a talk and discuss the topics she was concerned with.

“I look around and I cannot see.
I know there has to be a point where sky and earth meet but I cannot find it.”

Johanna Kintner studied and graduated in 2013 from Städelschule, Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Her artistic work deals with space and the idea of geometric planes. She works with materials and topics found in her immediate surroundings. In exhibitions she connects objects to span a field in which the viewer can move around as in a landscape.

Kintner’s works have been shown in several exhibitions (among others in Germany, Norway and Italy) including recent solo exhibitions at Galerie Parisa Kind, Frankfurt am Main and ONO Gallery Kunstnereshus, Oslo, Norway. She received a working grant from Stiftung Kunstfonds, Bonn, Germany and had residencies in Iceland, France and Germany.

Johanna Kintner’s residency is organised as a residency exchange in collaboration with the city of Frankfurt am Main.
