Anna Rubio: Without the tree I’m a dead woman

Thursday August 31st, 6pm

Without the tree I’m a dead woman, by Frontiers in Retreat artist Anna Rubio, is a dialog with an old oak of Suomenlinna. It is a movement work developed during Rubio’s residency in HIAP, that aims to synthesize the reflections included under the name All the trees I met, which began in 2013 with a performance in Festival Saó (Farrera, High Pyrenees) and continued until today in different environments – always with tree as a motive – from Catalonia, Latvia and Indonesia). In Suomenlinna, Anna Rubio performs together with musicians Vladimir Gabitov (contrabass), Arseny Yryev (violin) and Ivan Mihajlowskij (cello).

The event is part of Arts in the Environment – Nordic Symposium. Welcome!

Meeting point: HIAP Gallery Augusta at 17:50

Suggested ferry from Kauppatori: 17:20.
The symposium offers a guide from HSL ferry stop to HIAP at 17:00, which you will be able to follow if you take the ferry at 16:40.
