HIAP Talk: Curator Feng Boyi

As part of the Finland-Asia Exchange Programme of HIAP, Chinese curator Feng Boyi visits Helsinki in May and will give a public talk in Galleria Huuto on 11 May at 5 pm. In his talk, Feng will reflect on the current developments and discourses within the Chinese contemporary art field as well as presents his recent curatorial projects such as the Wuzhen International Contemporary Art Exhibition in 2016 titled Utopias/Heterotopias. The event is free of charge and open to everyone.

Feng Boyi is an independent curator, art critic and editor based in Beijing. Since the late 1980s, Feng has worked within the contemporary art field in China and abroad focusing on working with critical and experimental contemporary art groups and artists. He has written extensively for multiple publications and worked as the art director in the He Xiangning Art Museum in Shenzhen and in the Jinji Lake Art Museum in Suzhou.

Currently, he is working on the second edition of the Wuzhen International Contemporary Art Exhibition which will take place in 2019 as well as curating the 3rd Hanghzhou Textile Art Triennale opening in 2019. He is also the head curator of the Nordic Design Exhibition opening in He Xiangning Art Museum in December 2018. The Finnish section of the exhibition is realised in collaboration with HIAP and is curated by Feng Boyi, Juha Huuskonen (HIAP) and Ian Yang.
