The Scottish Book Trust Residency for Children's Writers

HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme in collaboration with the Scottish Book Trust, Scotland's leading organisation for the promotion of literature, reading and writing, currently offer residencies on the island of Suomenlinna in Helsinki for Scottish children’s books writers.

The aim of the programme is to provide authors with an opportunity to work on their projects, carry out research on Finnish literature, to build contacts with Finnish literature organisations and publishers and to create new networks between the two countries, Scotland and Finland, which may lead to further collaborative projects. A school visit (workshop) and a public event (e.g. lecture, open meeting) will also be organised during the residency.

Scottish Book Trust runs a wide range of projects, including public participation projects, live online author events, training and awards for writers as well as providing resources for learning professionals.

The Scottish Book Trust Finnish Residency for Children’s Writers has been funded by Creative Scotland as part of the Creative Futures residency programme.
