Open Studios

Open Studio events form the core of public programming at HIAP. Events are organised regularly and provide the artists-in-residence with an opportunity to present their work to local colleagues and art audiences in an informal and relaxed setting. The programming varies with each event and visiting artist, and most often consists of video screenings, small exhibitions, performances, presentations and discussions. Occasionally Finnish artists are also invited to present their work in connection with the resident artists’ projects, and live music concerts performed by local and international musicians are also organized. Each visiting artist has an opportunity to participate in at least one Open Studio event.
