Silence Project Get-Together

27 November, 2 pm, Gallery Augusta

The Silence Project participants will host a get-together at Gallery Augusta on Wednesday, 27.11.2013 at 2 pm. The participants introduce the project, what is presented at Suomenlinna and how the project and the touring exhibition will evolve in the future.

Silence Project connects the work of independently operating artists with cultural and social entities to allow the study of, and experiments with, the concept of ‘silence’ in relation to new urban realities.

The project is an initiative by Finnish artist and curator Nina Backman. The participating artists are Lene Berg, Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir, Lise Bjørne Linnert, Sari Palosaari, Marja Helander, Mia Hamari and guests.

At the get-together Backman, the project’s curator, will talk more about the inception of the interdisciplinary project, what forms it will take, the touring exhibition and chosen artists.

Participating artists Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir, Mia Hamari, Marja Helander and Sari Palosaari, producer Martina Kaufmann and media designer Stefanie Morgner will also be present at the event.

Artist Meiju Niskala, and Freja Bäckman and Vappu Jalonen of the performance collective Wir Spielen have also been invited for the get-together.

Coffee, tea and light refreshments are served.

Welcome!
