Giovanna Esposito Yussif (b. 1981)

Giovanna Esposito Yussif graduated in Art History from U Iberoamericana, Mexico. Starting from 2003 she has collaborated within diverse private and state funded institutions in Mexico City such as Laboratorio Arte Alameda, Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo (SITAC II, III, IV), Fundación/Colección Jumex, Ibero 90.9, Galería OMR, and Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros.

From 2012 on she has collaborated actively with NAES (Nomad Agency/Archive of Emergent Studies) and The Winter Office. Within these platforms she has been researching on matters relating to social dynamics and silenced knowledges. Also, on how the concept of dwelling and the sustainability discourses are challenged through geopolitical dialectics, allocation of privileges, and politics of mobility.

Through her independent curatorial practice, Giovanna Esposito Yussif has explored mechanisms and operations at play in identitarian constructions, borders, and negations. She is currently developing a curatorial project concerned with intersecting artistic productions and residency programs from Mexico and Finland.
