Georgios Papadopoulos combines economics and philosophical analysis with artistic research. His research gravitates around money and it's socioeconomic functions. Papadopoulos studied at the London School of Economics and the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has worked at the Jan Van Eyck Academy, at the Dept of Aesthetics and Communication of the University of Aarhus and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In 2012 was awarded the Vilém Flusser Prize for Artistic Research by the transmediale festival in Berlin. Currently he investigates the new aesthetic of economic value.

During his residency at HIAP, Papadopoulos is going to inaugurate his new project entitled Faceless Value that investigates the capacity of digital technologies to signify and communicate economic value and their influence on our understanding of this concept. At the same time Papadopoulos is going to participate and document the Skills of Economy, a series of events curated by Jussi Koitela. Skills of Economy focuses on ways of building new economic and social agencies through political, curatorial and theoretical discourses, including a video programme as well as artistic and performative interventions at three different theater contexts.
