Evita Vasiļjeva (Riga, 1985) is Latvian artist based in Riga and Amsterdam. In 2016 Evita finished the two-year residency program De Ateliers in Amsterdam. She is mainly a sculptor, who is not limited to a physical material. Her solo shows include Manhours in Headquarters, P/////AKT, Amsterdam (2017), Printhouse on the Gut Level, kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga (2016), Nothing Lost, Nothing Found, gallery 427, Riga (2016), Thermodynamic Pain and Energy Bank, De Ateliers residency, Amsterdam (2016), Indian Summer, duo exhibition with Frederique Pissuise, Gallery Fons Welters, Amsterdam (2013). Her group shows include NNN, National Museum of Latvia (2017), White Walkers, Riga (2017), Nose to Flees, Rib, Rotterdam (2017), YOUNG POPES, Latvian Institute Rome, Rome (2017), Feed Your Friends, Odd, Bucharest (2017), Over Hang, W139, Amsterdam (2017), Lily’s Pool, Art in General, New York (2015), Vortex, Garage’s Project Space, Moscow (2014). Since 2009 Evita lives and works in Amsterdam.
