Chikako Morishita (b.1981) is a Japanese composer and pianist, now based in Berlin. Her work focuses on the area of intercultural exchange and explores interrelationship between sensibility, physicality and music’s form. She has been commissioned and/or performed by Tokyo Geidai philharmonic, ELISION ensemble, OKEANOS ensemble, Ensemble WASABI, Timothy O’Dwyer and Adarbert Skocic in Japan, UK, Germany and Singapore. She is a PHD candidate at the University of Huddersfield, UK, under supervisions of Liza Lim and Aaron Cassidy.
