After graduating with an M.A. in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hong worked for the Department of Cultural Affairs Chicago as a Program Coordinator for both cultural exchange program and art education program. Currently, Hong works as the Director of Gallery FACTORY (Seoul, Korea since 2002), and the Artistic Committee of Art Fair Tokyo 2011. Hong is also the publisher of independent art magazine <versus>, a visiting lecturer of art planning and cultural policy in different universities.

She is very much interested in when gastronomy becomes an extensive form of art & urban culture and will research the Restaurant Day project as a case study for her upcoming book.
